Earl has screwed up. His entire life has been one degenerate act after another. However a change of luck also brings a change of heart. Earl wins a small fortune in the lottery and decides to go fix all the wrongs he has done throughout life.
He makes a list of all the people he has treated poorly in the past and starts trying to fix things. The first person on his list is a grade school nerd who Earl used to pick on relentlessly.
Earl's friends help him in his journey to rectify his karma. His hopeless brother Randy and beautiful friend Catalina may not be the sharpest tools in the shed, but they still lend a helping hand. Darnell, another of Earl's friends also helps out when he isn't running his "Crab Shack" where Earl likes to drink. Then there is Joy. Earl's ex-wife. She goes out of her way to make life hard for Earl and wont move a muscle to help him in his quest unless it directly benefits her.
Although Earl may seem 'slow' he manages to right a lot of wrongs and help a lot of people.
